Questions

ImSafe is a safety app for family and friends. You can check in to say you're OK, ask someone where they are, and send an SOS to your group. Your location is shared only when you choose to share it or when someone asks and you've had the chance to answer first.

No. We don't sell your personal information and we don't use your location for advertising. Your location goes only to the members of the group involved, and we keep only the last location you shared, not a history of where you've been. A small number of providers, such as Google Firebase and Apple, help us run the app and receive only what they need to do that. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Most tracker apps share your location and activity all the time. ImSafe doesn't. Someone has to ask for your location, you're always told when they do, and you can answer that you're safe without sharing where you are.

No. Your location is shared when you check in with I'm Here, when you answer a location check with I'm Here or its countdown runs out, and when you send an SOS. The map shows the last location each person shared and how long ago that was.

You get a notification and a countdown. Tap I'm Safe to answer without your location, or I'm Here to share it straight away. If the countdown runs out without an answer, your location is shared. You choose how long the countdown lasts in Settings.

Yes, every time. A location check is never silent: you're told who asked, and you get time to answer before anything is shared.

Both tell your group you're OK. I'm Here also shares where you are. I'm Safe doesn't.

A nudge asks someone to check in. It doesn't ask for their location.

Slide or hold the SOS button. Your group is alerted and sees your location right away, and each person can acknowledge that they've seen it. ImSafe alerts the people in your group, not the emergency services, so call your local emergency number if you're in danger.

Tap Cancel SOS, and your group is told as soon as you do. If you've set an SOS PIN in Settings, you'll enter it first, so your group knows it's really you calling it off.

On the Home screen, tap New to start a group and invite people, or tap Join to enter an invite code someone sent you. An invite link opens the app with the code already filled in.

Yes. Each group has its own box on the Home screen, so you can keep family, friends and other groups separate.

No. It works for any group of people who look out for each other: family, friends on a night out, housemates, or someone travelling.

Only members of the groups you're in. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how your data is handled.

ImSafe isn't sending your location constantly, so it's designed to use much less battery than an always-on tracker.

ImSafe is on the App Store for iPhone. The Android app is coming very soon to Google Play; it is in its final round of testing now.

You can permanently delete your account and data from the app's Settings. This can't be undone, so you'll be asked to confirm first.
